Is it just me or were people just effortlessly dope in the 70s/early 80s? Around 85 the coolness petered off and all we are left with are the dregs of style. Perhaps i'm romanticizing the period, but all i know is that my pictures from my youth aren't nearly as cool as my parents. Like my kids will not be posting my pictures on their blogs...or whatever it is they'll have by the time i have some. I was a mess. Stay tuned for another throwback thursday... i'll embarrass myself by posting my sartorial missteps. :-)

I agree with your assessment of the 70s being cool but I gotta throw in the 60s/50s too. Recently I was looking through my parent's old photo album... if they weren't the coolest couple on the planet, I don't know who was.
My teenager pics? I reserve comment and take comfort in the fact that they are hidden in a place where only I and Jimmy Hoffa could find them.

but how remiss of me! yes the 40s/50s/60s were a good time for looking good. I was watching some movie on TCM last night and fell in love with william holden's attire. So very sharp.
As far as pics from my teens... i'm with you. I was a trainwreck. They really could be used as a visual ipecac.
