ANYWHERE BUT HERE
Well not anywhere. The location must boast these credentials:
Sun.
Warm sand, and pristine beaches.
Minimal Civilization.
Cracker Barrel.
Sonic.
Simple right?
Once again the cold temps, the snow and the increasing darkness has me questioning my insistence upon living where i live. I loathe winter, so why stay in a place where winter and cold temperatures constitute a greater part of the year? Perhaps i'm a bit of a masochist. Perhaps i'm lazy. Perhaps i'm afraid of the unknown. Perhaps i'm a combination of all three. Whatever the reason, a great deal of today was spent daydreaming about my own private shangri-la. One day i'll get there.
Until then, you're welcome to join me on my escapade. It sounds a little like this:
La Costa - Natalie Cole

Get outta my head. I was thinking the same thing (well minus the Cracker Barrel and Sonic credentials - never eaten at either one. LOL)
The song in my head? "Make that move" by Shalamar. Maybe that means I'll be leaving sooner rather than later. LOL
What is it about this time of year that gets us all antsy and up-in-arms? What about the coast of the Carolinas? Or Monteray, Calif.? Or perhaps a little vaca will give you that little boost to sustain you through winter. I give such dreadful advice on this topic--I love love love cold weather. I've been thinking more and more of Canada--but perhaps that will spoil my love of winter.
I'm with you Lex. Every year when the weather in DC takes a nasty turn I question why I'm still here. My reasons are similar to yours (as a trumpet player I'm definitely a masochist).
Sonic... why do they advertise for this restaurant in DC/MD and the closest locations are in Fredericksburg VA and Delaware? The food is so good too...
