I LOVE THIS WOMAN




Her style! Her hair! Her junk!...Tracee Ellis Ross is one rockin feminina. Bug eyes and all, I think she is one of the flyest women in hollywood. Yeah, Halle Berry may be a classic beauty, but Tracee has that extra umphh. That little bit of -how do the french say? - Ahh yes. She has the je ne sais quoi that makes her just the absolute hotness in my book. You know, the book of Absolute Hotness.

I've seen her interview twice, and she seems real down to earth and cool. Smart too. One of those mad chill chicks that just happens to be extra fly.

Tracee also happens to be one of the main reasons I watch girlfriends. Her wardrobe keeps me in a dither. By the way, i haven't
watched Girlfriends @ all for this current season. Last thing i remember was Joan being proposed to. Anybody watch that show and can bring me up to speed? Lets recap.

In other news, I finally found a red lipstick I think i won't be afraid to wear out of the house. I love makeup, though i don't wear a lot, and what i do wear is usually quite neutral. For the most part color freaks me out. Lately i've been toying with the idea of a stronger lip color. So...I got this red, and i'm kind of diggin it. I'm going to try it out this weekend(not at the superbowl party though). Hopefully the feedback will be positive. Onliest thing is i have kinda big lips and i don't wanna scare no one. :(

Not to mention when wearing such a bold colored lipstick the rest of the makeup has to be calm -unless you want to look like a pierrot. Which i don't. I mean my makeup is calm anyway, but now i'm wondering if i should even wear blush in addition to the red. Hm. I should probably run this past my sister. We usually bounce makeup ideas off of each other. I won't bore yall with the vagaries of my toilette right now. Until i can talk to my sister I'll just google more pics of Tracee. I know i've seen her wear a red lip. I'll just pay attention to how she augments the rest of her face.

ALLOW ME TO UNLEASH MY INNER DORK

I'm about to go on a science rant, so turn back now if you so desire.

As you may or may not know...one of the things i do for fun is physics. I've spent serious $ on books and sundry on said subject, not to mention i have a not so minor crush on Stephen Hawking.

I'm especially fond of astrophysics, which combines two things i absolutely adore: astronomy and physics. Crazy delicious.

This evening while doing some reading(Isaac Asimov's understanding physics), I was struck anew @ how awesome our universe is. Take the Sun for example. Our Sun, though only a midsized star, is a freakin monster. Its a source of thousands unimaginable
sustained thermonuclear reactions that we can only begin to understand. Think about this: Every second the sun converts about 564 million tons of hydrogen into 560 million tons of helium.

These reactions are caused by fusion, which is when atomic particles combine and form a heavier nucleus. This in itself is awe inspiring because these atomic particles have to overcome their natural tendency to repel each other.

Ever try to push two magnets together with their same poles facing each other? Its impossible. Well in fusion this IS whats happening. When nuclei are heated to extraordinary temperatures, such as that in the sun, they overcome this electromagnetic repulsion and fuse together due to strong nuclear force.

Now if you recall (or scroll up two paragraphs) I stated that every second the sun converts about 564 MILLION TONS of hydrogen into 560 MILLION tons of helium.

"But lex," you ask. "Where did the other 4 million tons go?"

That other 4 million tons was converted into pure energy. The sunlight that gives us our warm glow(unless you're marilyn manson), fades the paint on our homes, provides our soil with nutrients, and heats our atmosphere is the result of the enormous release of energy through fusion. However, only a fraction of this 4 million tons of solar energy reaches earth. And yet, that is enough to sustain life here on earth.

If you don't find that freaking awesome no offense, but you're probably a total moron.

Scientists would love to harness this ability to have controlled sustainable fusion. It would be wonderful as far as energy is concerned. Especially in the production of electricity. Its relatively "clean" and there is not much radioactive leftovers. So-to-speak.However, as of this moment this amazing ability to overcome nuclei repellancy(i think i just made that word up) has only been witnessed in the uncontrolled release of energy of a thermonuclear weapon, known colloquially as the hydrogen or H-bomb. The power of this bomb, and the resultant temperature is what allows for this fusion.

The H-Bomb uses this property of strong nuclear force through fusion as a way of releasing the tremendous amount of energy in atomic nuclei. Unfortunately, this way of releasing energy has no practical use.(unless you want to vaporize your neighbor)

Which brings me to another topic.

Have you ever witnessed the awesome destructive power of a bomb? Not first hand of course. But have you seen footage? Well i did some googling and...for all of their destructive and harmful nature, the actual physics that goes into them is...astounding. Man. (i know, im sure the federalis are watching me as a type)


Trinity Test:

A few weeks before the actual drops of the bombs over Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Tested in New Mexico. Oppenheimer was @ the helm. Watching it gave me chills. Equal parts of horror and fascination.






Castle Bravo:

The first test of a thermonuclear device. Trinity was Nuclear(or, fission based) Castle Bravo was fusion based(such as what occurs on the sun) Detonated March 1st on Bikini Atoll in the Marshall Islands(where we ladies get our name for our bathing suits) 1000x more powerful than the Atom Bomb, and its yield was 15 Megatons. A surprise to scientists who were expecting something in the 8 megaton range. The nuclear fallout has made these islands uninhabitable to this day.


Ivy Mike:

Another Thermonuclear device tested about two years prior to Castle Bravo(they couldn't get enough could they? The cold war was NO joke):

And then...

Tsar Bomba.

Tsar Bomba is/was the most powerful weapon EVER detonated, with a yield of 50 Megatons. The resulting mushroom cloud was approx SEVEN times higher than mount everest. Its richter magnitude was about a five.



Man.

Its amazing what something as innocuous a the mass equivalence formula can result in. Terrible. Its a wonder we don't all have cancer.

But yeah, as interesting as all of this physics/science stuff is, I'm a little tired. I guess i should go to bed huh? I mean being that its around midnight and all. Besides I'm sure none of yall read all - if any - of what i wrote, but whatever. I enjoyed it. If i appear to be a total nerd well thats alright by me. Because i am. And now i'll get some shut eye.

I WANT SOME POMMES FRITES

And not from McDonalds either. Although they'll do in a pinch.

I want the kind my abuela makes. Freshly peeled(never from frozen) potato, sliced to just the right thickness and fried to the perfect shade of golden.

Yessss. Thats what i want. I could eat a plate of those all to myself, no question. With a dash of salt and a ton of fresh cracked pepper.

Of course, i could make them myself, but certain things always taste better when someone else makes it. This being one of those things. Another being hotdogs. Hotdogs always taste gooder from someone else's kitchen. Gross when cooked in one's own.

Anyway. Enough of the fatty gurl talk.

My boy invited me to his Superbowl party, and I wish i hadn't said yes. Normally i wouldn't have any qualms with changing my mind @ the last minute, but i'm trying to turn over a new leaf and make good on my word. I said i would be there, so imma be there. I think. Ugh. Oh Em Gee! I'm so anti-social! lol

You know what cracks me up and make me want to "wag my finger" though? People who stay wanting to have shindigs at their place of residence, but then want everybody to chip in to make it all come together. Not two minutes after saying i would definitely be in attendance, the text is sent out "what do you think you'll be able to bring?"

um.

Don't get me wrong, I have absolutely no problem in assisting my host/hostess with food/drink/utensils/whatever. My problem is in the asking. Whenever i have something, all i want is for my guests to be there. Bring yourself, and i'll do the rest. If you bring something fine and thank you. If not, thats equally ok. Just sit back and enjoy yourself. Call me bourgie or stuck up or whatever but i can't get down with inviting folx to the crib and then demanding that they bring something.
Its one of those things thats just wrong. Like walking around the house nude. Or making sweet love to Mike Tyson.

Now to be fair, he didn't demand. But its obvious that its kinda mandatory that people bring grub else there'll be a lack of foodstuffs.

So I'm like well "what should i bring?" And the response is "It doesn't matter."

Ok.

Dude. Help me out here. Mess around and i'll bring a Costco sized box of brawny napkins.

*Sigh*

So not only do i have to make myself go to this thing, I also have to bring something. And...i'm not sure what. Finger foods rule @ superbowl parties, but then again i've been to some where its like a whole spread layed out. I could go the "no thought required" soda and beer route, but thats a tad gauche for my taste. Thats more like what a dude would bring.

Shoot. All i wanna do is watch the game you know?

Speaking of which, the jury is still out on who i'm rooting for. The giants are in our division(our being the eagles) Which would normally presuppose me rooting against them. But New England really annoys me, so i'm tempted to root against them. More than tempted actually. Hm. The Giants ARE the underdogs. I have a thing for the underdog. And Eli Manning. (Don't ask.) Well if there is anything this blog accomplished, its that I know the team i'm cheering against. Woo Hoo!

BACK IN THE SADDLE

Four days later and 5lbs lighter i'm finally feeling back to my old self. (thanks for the well wishes every one! i'm feeling so sally field right now)

other than that im back to being pretty much irritated and generally disillusioned with humankind. Which is good a thing. All the while i was sick, i was emo and maudlin and sympathetic. It was pretty gross. lol :/

Nah. But seriously though, whatever that bug was...whew! It was a doozy. I hope none of yall get it. To be honest i started feeling well enough to venture out in the public a day after my last entry, but like any self respecting sick person would, I used my last bit of sickness as an excuse to avoid work and contact with other Aerobes. Don't you judge me!

But yeah, so I went out and got some cinema action on.

After deliberating for a bit the decision was made to go see Cloverfield. Well now that i've seen it...I'm not sure how i feel about it. I think i liked it. But I also think i was disappointed in it. Or maybe its pure unbridled hate i'm feeling? I can't call it. Man...did anyone else see it? Let do a klatsch. I'd start dissertating, but I'd hate to ruin the story for someone who hasn't had a chance to watch it.

Anyways, at the theater, I saw the poster for the new indiana jones movie. Im pretty amped for it. I'd say i'm as much of a fan of the Indiana Jones series as i am for Star Wars, so a new indy flick will be just what the doctor ordered. Plus I love me some John Williams. I'm sure he will score the heck out of this latest addition to the series. And by score, i mean have a brass section the size of Bahrain.

Thats if they do it right.





The new flick is called Indiana Jones and the kingdom of the Crystal Skull. It sounds a little hokey to me, but then again all of the titles are pretty hokey. And thats part of the charm. So, if they(they being Lucas and Spielberg) execute it right - meaning don't go crazy with the CGI and green screens - we should be in for a treat.

HAGGARD

Well...its looks like i've caught one of those "bugs" folks are always talking about.

Sidenote: Ever notice how when you're sick people always mention the "bug" thats going around?

Person A: "Ugh..i think im getting sick. I have the sniffles and a sore throat"
Person B: "Well you know theres that bug thats going around..."

A nebulous microbe with no distinguishable characteristics save for the fact that it makes you ill. And no matter what the symptoms are, they are always an effect of the "bug". Sneezing a lot? Bug. Vomiting? bug. Fever? Bug. BeeGees? Bug. Weirdo rash? Bug. Hammertoes? Bug.

For the past 48 hours i've been a hostage in my home, my body having been wracked with a mysterious illness. I look a hot mess. Like if amy winehouse and helena bonham carter were able to reproduce, I'd be their tragic offspring. Oh yes. Its that bad folks. And, I feel even worse than I look.
I awakened Wednesday morning vomiting and diarrhea-ing something awful. I just knew i was going to burst a blood vessel because i was heaving so bad. And you know how after a while you have vomited everything out of your stomach, so there is nothing left but bile to upchuck? that what i was dealing with. Straight clear foamy bile that hurt like the dickens when being brought up. And the sound. My goodness the sound. It sounded like i was having a baby...out my friggin esophagus! The noises i was making scared me. WHATS worse is that at times i had to both vomit and poopy. Ugh. I'm so gross. I know there was TMI all up and through this paragraph, but yall understand. I hope.

My stomach has been relatively calm for the past 2 hours, so i ventured to the kitchen to make some tea. Hopefully that will stay down. I'm leery of eating anything though. I'm afraid i'll throw it up moments after i swallow it. :/ So now, i'm cautiously sipping tea, blogging, and catching up with my favorite blogs.

Only good thing that'll come out of this is that i'll probably lose 2-3 lbs. Of course it'll be water weight, but still.

On top of all that, i'm dealing with some stuff in my personal life that i'm sure is not helping my immune system fight off the invaders. Stress suppresses the immune system. Or so i've heard. The trouble with having family is that when they get involved w/nonsense, you feel the effects too. On some "no man's an island" steez. Right now one of my fam is dealing with the results of some stupidity on their part, and even though it has nothing to do with me, i'm still buggin over it. Like really buggin. In fact, i'm kinda glad for my illness, because it distracts me from the ridiculousness of it all. What makes it so bad is that my relative walked into this mess. Despite all the warning from everybody. And that fills me with impotent anger. And disgust. I am trying my hardest not to lose respect for this person but its really hard. Really hard. And, i feel sad that it i feel this way. I'm trying to see past that though, and not let my knee jerk feelings get the best of me. Its a struggle though.

Ugh.

This too shall pass. Right?

Anyweez...i'm gonna go and try to eat this fruit cocktail(in heavy syrup) and see if it stays down. I want to hula hoop but i won't push it.

FREAKY FRIDAY

Actually there is nothing really freaky about today, but the two words just roll off the tongue so beautifully don't ya think?

This is more of a random thought type of thing so stroll with me as i wander down ADD lane.

Bobby Fischer, the chess champ died. He was only 64. I'm too young to remember him in his glory days(thank goodness) But his name has reached such cult-like status, that i can't recall not being aware of him. I don't know why he died so young....was he sick? But my heart goes out to his family. Wherever they may be.

Speaking of chess, i brought my lil bro a chess set from mexico that was hand carved out of some kind of Mexican wood. Probably pine or something. Anyway thinking about chess has made me remember that not a week after i presented it to him, he had lost a few rooks. And pawns. Boo. I could have kept the chess set for myself, because i do play chess, and a Mexican chess set made of Knotty Pine would look so good on my coffee table right now. Oooh im starting to get agitated all over again.

Cloverfield comes out today, and I think i want to go see it. Its getting great reviews, and im in the mood for a good scare. I think. I'm a punk so i gotta be careful of my terror intake. Actually there are two movies I want to see, cloverfield and there will be blood. Movies are so darned expensive though. Seriously, after you pay your 10 bucks for 2 hours worth of 35mm - all you're left with is a memory. And a ticket stub. And sticky soled shoes. Everytime I go to a movie, even if its a REALLY good one, i think, "this 10-15 dollars could have been spent on something more constructive." Like the latest issue of Harpers and a Big Mac meal. What?? We all have our vices! :(

Speaking of constructive, I want a Wii. Now. I mean its 250 dollars, but if you divide that by the replay value, thats just pennies a day. It'll pay for itself in like a week. Im justifying like a mug.

For the past two days i've slacked on my workouts and right now i'm feeling all kinds of zaftig. I know im imagining it, but i think i can sense my fat cells expanding back to their normal size. Yup...there goes another one. I definitely felt that. Ugh. I'm gonna work out extra hard to combat this.

American Apparel is a menace. They have ads and pop-ups on darn near every website i visit, and slowly im succombing to their insidious wiles. I'm about to order one of their body hugging, synthetic fabric having- teeny bopper demographic-ing tops. I need a sitz bath after typing that and im appalled @ my lack of self control, but what can i say, the internet be powerful.

Speaking of the powerful internet, these pictures surfaced today - and depending on your work environment they may or may not be safe. Of course thats just for work. But i give a huge NSW for your soul. These are disturbing to say the least. Very Disturbing. I blogged about britney before, and it seems she's gotten worse since then. There is no way a sane, or emotionally sound woman would allow that to be visible. Of course, accidents happen, and if it was on the back of her skirt i could understand. But we are seeing her panties. Which we don't need to see in the first place. This is just wrong. And sad.

STUPID SNOW!

The one time when I wish the weatherman would be wrong and he's not.

So, if you're located anywhere on the northeastern seaboard/ midatlantic - you know we recieved some snow today. Not much, but enough to make commuting messy and to give the world around a coating of wet slushiness.

Yuck.

I have got to get out of this weather pattern. Ideally i'd like to move someplace where it is balmy year round. Ok, maybe days where its cooler, cuz i likes my turtlenecks and wool blazers. But generally warm and comfortable. As much as i love my city, i think i'm ready to bid it adieu. Winter has never been my favorite time of year, and, as an adult, i've grown to dislike it even more than when i was a child. At least as a kid, there is always the chance that school may close. Work never closes. Well, unless its a certified blizzard. And even then, some employers be hatin.

The sad thing is that i rehash this same complaint every year, threatening to evacuate @ first snowfall, so this is nothing new. And with every completed circuit around the sun, my vitriol increases. But see, what happens is spring and summer come a long, and i realize how much i LOVE my city in warm weather. Besides, where else can i find a steady supply of this and this other than my immediate environs? Forgetting how much i loathe winter, i stick around for another season. But winter comes back, i start foaming at the mouth, and i'm right where i started. Again.

I have climate amnesia.

In essence, i'll probably be posting something of this nature again, next year around this same time. Stay tuned.

...PERCHANCE TO DREAM

What do you do when you wake up @ 4:15 in the morning bright eyed and bushytailed?

Some choices:

A: Lay in bed with the lights off counting sheep
B: Lay in bed with lights on reading a book
C: Get out of bed and start cleaning
D: Do all of the above and then blog.

I chose D. Or i should say, D chose me. Deep huh? Its so frustrating when my internal clock gets off kilter, because then i have to deal with this wide-awake-at-the-wrong-time-of-day crap. Up and at em a lot earlier than i need to be, but its close enough to the time when i *need* to be getting up so unless i fall back asleep immediately, well im screwed for the rest of the day.

Needless to say, I'm screwed. Por supuesto.

My weekend was interesting. Or should I say, My Sunday was interesting. The rest of it was rather hum-drum and par for the course. Saturday I found a domininican hair salon that i will soon be a frequent patron. I don't always have the best experiences with salons(which is why i rarely go, and do my hair myself mostly) but when i do want the help of a professional best believe i will be going to my cousins from another country. There is a lot of hype surrounding the dominican hair salons - some may call them overrated, but imho, this one is well worth the hype.

Sunday, was an amalgam of excitement and terror.

I had a fire going in my fireplace yesterday evening, no big deal right? Since the weather turned cool, i've had a fire in there practically everyday. I find the flames soothing and oddly hypnotizing. Not to mention, it gives off a wealth of heat. And, with energy costs what they are these days -

So, a piece of cardboard is put in the fireplace. It goes up almost immediately, and for a moment all of the kindling is engulfed in a white hot flame. Niiiice. But all of a sudden, i start hearing this roaring sound. Like a tornado, or a wind whipped up by a storm. I figure its a result of the eddys formed due to the intense heat of the flame. My inner scientist finds it all very awesome.

And then.

Chunks of..."stuff"...begin falling down the chimney. Like just falling. And it glows red. So i'm like what in the...? Tempted to ignore it as a side effect of fire(though one i've never seen before), i just look at whatever it is curiously. Then its starts falling down muy rapido. Great globs of it, unidentifiable and and strange looking. I get worried. I go outside to look at the chimney and there are sparks flying out it! Sparks, and the same "stuff". The stuff falling to the ground outside. Now would be the time to freak(albeit in a controlled sensible manner). I don't know whats going on, so the first step is to put out the the fire. Get a big pot of water and pour it on the flames. Fire is doused. I go back outside.

No go.

The chimney is still belching out sparks and the mysterious "stuff". It smells smoky too. Now i'm worried. What if the roof catches fire? Perhaps theres a fire in the walls? I didn't want to do it, but i ring 911. I tell them the situation, and they say they are sending a ladder and out immediately. Within 20 seconds, i hear the familiar wail of the fire engine.

OMG i'm so embarrassed. Now the whole block will be wondering wtf is going on. The fireman come, fully suited, their walkie talkies set at 100 decibels. I'm embarrassed but relieved. "They'll know what to do!" The situation is explained. These wonderful men look up the chimney(be careful! hot "stuff" is falling down!) And two other dudes look down the chimney from the outside. They see where it was sparking, but say they see no flames in the actual chimney. A good thing. What happened is that there was creosote build up, and the stuff falling was this creosote. The chimney will need to be cleaned. They reassured that calling was the RIGHT thing to do, since chimney fires can cause great damage to property. Regardless i felt bad.

If i may, i'd like to interrupt myself to pitch something here. Couldn't there be like a Fire engine minivan? For those times when you don't need the whole shebang, but you do need something. Because yesterday was certainly one of those times. I felt so apologetic for them coming out to my house. They didn't have to use hoses or hatchets. I kid. I am EXtremely grateful that they didn't. Not to mention they were glad that they were called. They'd rather take precautionary measures, than have to put out a raging fire.

I was relieved. A little bit. But shaken. For about a half hour things were moving really fast, but really slow. It was scary. All i could see was my entire life being engulfed in a flame, and for a moment, I think i know how very helpless and terrified actual fire victims are. Sobering.

And thus, my Sunday ended with a real bang.

Not to mention there were two upsets in the sports world! Giants and San Diego winning? Whodathunkit?

ONCE UPON A TIME

I used to frequent this little coffee shop:




It was the habitue of the local bohemian brigade. Hotep, my sisters and brothers. Yet despite their cloying and annoying presence, i rather enjoyed the atmosphere. An atmosphere thick with the pungent odors of patchouli and frankincense, but an enjoyable atmosphere all the same.

I could get my tea and samosas and read a book while sitting at the front window and watch passersby. Or sit in the back, and pretend to read while really listening to "deep" conversations and stifling laughter. One time a 5% came through and dropped some knowledge. And his phone number.

On days when i came in with my hair blown straight the service wouldn't be as quick. And the smiles weren't as frequent. Or as sincere. When I came in there with my hair huge, curly, and in its natural state, i was shown mad love. Fickle lot those bohos.

Its been closed for about two years now. Maybe three? I can't remember. That whole block is being built up and a lot of the old buildings were bought out by developers to be turned into condos.

But the memories remain. I am one of those people who came in close contact with the bohemian set and lived to tell the tale. Save for a few questionable fashion choices, - I could be seen rocking this from time to time :( - my, shall we call it, "brushes with the boho" left me pretty much unscathed. I was not one of them. I could never be one of them. Thank goodness. But they did have good tea. And Samosas.

JANET.



Penny has a new song out and well, its boring. Once again, she's whispering over a base heavy track that overwhelms her gossamer vocals. Once again you can't understand the words. Once again the lyrics have questionable content. I remember the first time i learned the words to 'IF'. Whoo Chile! i was so young and so unaware back then. That was also around the same time i learned what they were talking about in SWV's 'downtown'. My innocence shattered about me like Patrick Ewing's knees.

So.

An excerpt from feedback:

Lack of articles aside, that is one gross way of saying "i'm hot for you." Seriously. I don't know about you guys but the menstrual cycle has never held any erotic allure for me. If you wanna dull the flames of passion just mention the menses. I certainly can't imagine stating the above as a way to get motors running. Thats just too icky. Then again Janet is a self proclaimed freak so you never know. Btw, if you're poppin wheelies off of something like that may i kindly suggest you get the heck out of my journal. Thanks.

but yeah.

Then the video has some kind of milk and cereal theme that leaves me @ a loss. I mean what is that? Cookie crisp? Wait, it kinda looks like the other one...um...corn pops? No...Thats not the one im thinking of...its in a yellow box and its in balls. Eff it i don't know. At any rate, knowing Janet, i'm sure it has some kind of sexual double meaning. She is one sexy girl. She makes Annie Sprinkle look subtle.

Her styling leaves something to be desired too. She's toned, true, but she looks tough. No feminine softness. Plus her costuming looks familiar. Didn't she wear something similar in the busta rhymes collabo?

I dunno. I just wanted her to come back hard, and show these new jackies whats up, but i fear that this is gonna flop just like her previous efforts.

WEIGHTLOSS. BOOTY COMPLIMENTS. ROOTBEER...AND, A SMATTERING OF CHILE POWDER

After toiling in complete silence with the rigors of my workout regimen(ok i complain and kvetch here -wait is that synonymous? - but yall are like family and don't count), others have finally started to take notice of my physical changes. Hmm. Ok that sounds like i'm morphing into a gorgon but you know what i mean. My point is i received a compliment on my weightloss today! I was also given one this past Sunday. Dude! I am so amped about the compliments too! Like major geekage. And it may seem corny that i am so giddy but shoot. I'M corny.(did you not read my mission statement?) Heretofore i thought no one was noticing it but me. Not that I'm doing it for other people, but its nice to know that my hard work is producing visible results(that aren't figments of my imagination) Might i add that these same people also chided me for losing weight in the first place("you don't need to lose weight!") which made me feel even better, and appealed to my vanity. i know. i shouldnt be vain. but still.

So this random dude gave a crass comment on my booty today. What makes a man think that making off color comments on body parts is ok? Like do you really think you are endearing yourself to the woman who is the victim of your misguided attention? Anyway I guess he figured it was a compliment. Now i am not the booty queen but i guess my workouts have given my *ahem* assets an added dimension and he was so moved to the sight that he felt it necessary to speak on it. Not that i had flat booty syndrome thank gawd, but ki toy/buffie i am not. I guess i am happy with my booty though. it looks nice in and OUT(important) of jeans. lemme stop playing my derriere is fly yo. definitely nothing to sneeze at. wait did i just hear a Hachoo? haters...

I havent had soda in a while, but i bought some MUG over the weekend. I'd forgotten how much i love Root Beer. Seriously i am a root beer freak! Barq's is my favorite, but really, im not choosy. Pathmark brand root beer be killin! Right now i'm craving some but i'm gonna resist. I think. Thats too many (empty)calories for this late in the evening. Tomorrow its on though!

8hrs of sleep. I guess there really is something to that. For the last 4 days or so i've been getting into bed early, and getting the full prescribed allotment of slumber. My skin looks radiant, and my eyes are brighter. I have more energy as well(except for today i was strangely lethargic)I need to make sure i do this all the time.

There is a jar of chili powder on my dresser. Don't ask. Ok ask away but don't laugh. I was making a pot of chili(bangin btw) and must have had the chili powder in my hand when i went upstairs. I don't recall bringing it up, but i must have as there is no one but me to do so. Sometimes i wonder if im losing it :-/

ITS NOT FUNNY ANYMORE

This whole Britney Spears situation is way tragic. At one point i found it hilarious, and was enjoying the craziness, but now its like: dude...maybe i should stop laughing because something is really wrong.

From what I gather via official news and gossip blog sites, there was some kind of standoff at britney's home stemming from a custody dispute between her and k-fed(did i just type k-fed? shoot me now) the result being her being taken out of her home on a gurney(laughing hysterically according to some reports), and losing the visitation and custodial rights for her children.

I don't have any children, but i can only imagine the pain of recieving a court order that states that not only do i not have the right to take care of them, but now i can't even visit them/have them visit me?

Awful.

But really does the court have any other course? Forreal, homegirl looks crazy. Or should i say, crazed. And not in the "gurlll you so crazy" way, more like "Lets send her to Bedlam" way. Full on phenobarbital mode.

What happened? Is her mental instability a latent trait? Or was it caused by someone or something? Some have suggested that it was Mr Federline himself that made her lose her grip on reality. To a certain extent that may be true. Often times when love goes south, one party can suffer really badly. I know I had my heartbroken summ'n serious and for like two weeks i was a walking zombie. Str8 up. But I bounced back. Like most people do. Thank goodness.

But sometimes it takes longer. And by her being in the public eye, she didn't have that luxury. She had to go out and pretend she was fine. Laugh like it didn't matter, party like a rock star. Its only a marriage, people break up all the time. Who cares? NEXT! Maybe it was more to her though. Although the public couldn't see why, maybe she really did LOVE kevin federline, and perhaps she should have gone to a far away land and just taken some time to grieve of bad decisions.

Some folks have blamed her mom for bad parenting. I don't know. From what i see, most hollywood parents are some permissive slouches but can you really blame the fact that a 24 year old woman refuses to wear panties and flashes her crotch to the paps on her mother? Or drives inebriated? Or wears shirts as dresses thereby explosing pasty buttmeat?

The way i see it most "stars" have a very loose hold on reality. Their perception of the world and their place in it is often skewed. But when they have the love of the populace, they seem fine. But let the greater public get sick of them, the "star" can't deal. And the crowd, seeing chink in the armor calls for blood. "give us barabbas!" I think thats where we are now. People want to see the drama unfold, they want to see her demise.

I'd hate to hear about her killing herself, and from the reports, that seems like where she's headed unless something is done. quick.

ugh. There is not reason to be so somber at the beginning of the weekend but this is was on my mind.

But...I gotta go, scrabble tournament tonight @ my place, and i gotta kick some triple word score booty! I got the fireplace going and i been brushing up on my scrabble words with my scrabble dictionary for this very occasion. Time to superman deez hoes!

ANOTHER ONE BITES THE DUST

looks like another female celeb has succumbed to hollywood machine and gone and dyed her hair another (lighter)color.

Latest victim?

Amerie Mi Rogers. (say that three times fast)

(BTW i have an Amerie story. It involves me, amerie, her aunt and a certain picture..I'll blog about it sometime.)

But back to Amerie.

While watching VH1 soul(and working...allegedly) the new chingy video came on, and i heard the familiar sound of the artist in question's nasal soprano.

I look up, and its Amerie singing something about somebody being fly like she. Or not fly like she is rather. Whatever. Typical generic hook but anyway...im getting ready to look back down to my work but i catch a glimpse of our siren, and i notice that her hair which is normally a shiny black, is now a warm titian.

*sigh*

Must they always go lighter? Is bleaching your hair part of the deal when you sign your contract? Amerie held out for a few years which is commendable but yeah. Not that anything is wrong with burnished hair but geez. Everyone having the same shade of honey is so cookie cutter.

I mean dark hair is so sexy. Am i right or am i right? I know mine is lol

Anyway...the Brunette Revolution will not be stopped! (apparently it won't be televised either) :(

Where all my raven haired mamis at?? Stand up chicas! WE WILL NOT LOSE

Me: I'm thinking here... or...here *points* Nowhere readily visible, just on some for your eyes only steez. Bad idea? Or am i being "ghetto"? Be honest.

Me: Yes i'm forreal! Of course it won't be too big. I got an image i want to keep.

Me: Soon. Once i find a reputable tattoo artist.

HAPPY NEW YEAR?

So its new years day. Rah Rah Rah. You know how i feel about New Years day?

Will baby i thank you. That stanza captures perfectly how i'm feeling right now. I'm on straight blah mode. A new year sure, but honestly i'm expecting more of the same. Another day, another dollar, another same ol same ol. Plus, now that all the holidays are over, there are no paid vacations until Memorial day. Ugh. Don't get me wrong, i *AM* thankful, and this new year seems quite promising(on paper @ least lol), but i am cautiously optimistic. Eh. I don't wanna be all maudlin and emo on new years day.

Plus i don't want anybody thinking im not happy...its just that sometimes i think to freakin much!
